ABOUT
Opening tomorrow the 4th of June, and running from the 5th to the 25th in Gallery X is ‘Black Noise’, an exhibition celebrating artists of colour in Ireland, featuring A4 member Obinna Imo. The opening night is at 5pm tomorrow – myself and Lucy are going to head there for 5 if you fancy joining us! I’ve added the RSVP form below so we can keep an eye out for you. Full details on the exhibition can be found at the link below.
“For years I have watched artists of colour in Ireland be overlooked, misrepresented, or pushed to the margins. This project comes from that frustration, but also from the need to build something better. In a time shaped by division, racism, and political tension, creating spaces of solidarity and care feels more important than ever. The deaths of George Nkencho and Yves Sakala, along with the Disrespect of Rose of Dublin, are reminders of the reality many people of colour face here.
This exhibition celebrates the diaspora across Ireland and the strength that comes from community. Inspired by AfroPunk, it looks at how creativity can bring people together when the world feels broken. Bringing together artists from different backgrounds and mediums, the show sees art as a tool for connection, resistance, and visibility. It is about being seen, heard, and supported on our own terms.”
