What is it?
This two-day workshop is a brief introduction to the dry point process for those interested in using the printing press. Over the two days we will cover basics of these facilities including: prepping a plate, inking up, pulling a print, and general health and safety.
Please bring a small (A5/A6), uncomplicated drawing/image to use in this process. Note that whatever you bring will be printed in reverse so if you want this image to be as is, you need to flip the image before attending.
Breakdown of each session:
Session 1: Health and safety, prepping a plate with your image.
Session 2: Inking up, preparing paper, and pulling a print.

Members who are interested in using our printing facilities.

What do you need?

You will also need to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty/ bring an apron.
All other materials will be provided.

Participants will become familiar with the basics of drypoint printing, that will allow them to use this printing facility independently in the future.

Skillsharing:
If you have specific things you would like to learn we suggest practicing the basics on your own time first until you are confident, and then use online tutorials on YouTube or similar to up your skills.
We also encourage you to team up and share skills and tips. You can start a group in ‘Art Gangs’ or use this one to chat, share links and ask questions!
