A4 COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIPS

WHO ARE WE?

A4 Sounds is a non-profit artist-run workspace and gallery in north-inner-city Dublin. It is one of the biggest artist-led spaces in Ireland, currently providing facilities and professional development supports to 80 artists. Our mission is to transform the means by which cultural works are produced, accessed, and understood in Ireland, and by doing so to contribute to the development of a more just society. Guided by feminist, anti-racist, anti-capitalist, and LGBT-inclusive politics, A4 Sounds supports artists and activists who fight for change.

In addition to providing affordable studio space to artists we aim to support groups working in social and political ways through the provision of meeting space and access to resources where possible.

STUDIO ETHOS:

Members of A4 Sounds are expected to uphold the values of our community:

1. RESPECT your fellow members.

Sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia or ableism are not welcome here.

2. SUPPORT your fellow members.

This is a community and we grow as artists together when we support each other. Competitiveness is not welcome here.

3. SHARE with your fellow members.

This is a shared workspace in many ways. We share space and resources on a daily basis, and knowlege, information, skills and opportunities when we can.

WHAT KINDS OF GROUPS?

We welcome applications from artist collectives, activist groups and community groups whose work resonates with the ethos and politics of our studio and wider programme We Only Want the Earth.

This may include:

Artist Collectives:
Who make socially and or politically driven works who do not need access to day to days studio space but need access to meeting space to discuss, plan or develop their work.

Activist Groups:
Who are focused on specific causes or organise and/or build awareness around specific politics which are inline with the ethos and politics of A4 Sounds.

Community Groups:
