mask bloc éire are hosting a masked drop-in day for anyone who wants to engage with the COVID safer community. No matter where you are in your journey with COVID safer living we will have something for everyone. There is no set schedule for the day, anytime is fine to turn up or leave. Come take part in our COVID safer community!
During the day we will also have hot drinks available our outdoor heated garden. We will provide hot chocolate, mulled wine, tea, and of course some snacks!
The day will include the Clean Air-ea, a collective art installation, and a creative station where we will be providing art materials to make your own stickers and other art. We will also be joined by artist brie (soft orb) who will be drawing masked caricatures!
WHAT'S HAPPENING?
4PM-8PM
In the Clean Air-ea you can get up to date information on everything to do with COVID: prevention, management, and how the virus works.
This will be a drop-in section with opportunities to chat to members of the mask bloc to learn more about COVID.
4PM-8PM
brie (soft orb) will be joining us to draw masked caricatures in exchange for donations to mask bloc éire!
brie is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Dublin. brie has collaborated with numerous collectives and artists including Áine O’Hara for their award winning show The Rest Rooms at Dublin Fringe, mask bloc éire, Stacey Fox, Eva Crystaltips & Sew Aoife designing logos and branding, and has illustrated several children’s books for Fonetti, an app that supports children learning to read. In their personal work, brie uses a soft, dreamy colour palette to create fun, often fantastical digital portraits. Through their work they aim to highlight that clear and accessible design can also be playful and engaging.
4PM-8PM
For the collective art installation we will be inviting you to respond to the question of: why do you wear a mask? We will provide materials to create a visual representation of your answer which we will display on the walls of the gallery during the event.
We are using the theme of the cosmos to visualize all of our reasons to wear a mask as stars or planets. Together we make constellations.
4PM-8PM
We will be providing art materials to make your own art related to COVID and disability justice.
Stickers: We will have sticky paper so you can make some stickers to take home and also regular papers to design stickers for us to print.
Badges: There will be a badgemaker available so bring anything you’d like to put in a badge! We will also have different types of colored card and art supplies.
Struggling to think of what to make? We will have some examples available as well as an overhead light projector with items to create an image to project if you can’t think of something.
There is no set schedule for the day, anytime is fine to turn up or leave.
Come take part in our COVID safer community!

The Cosmos, The Earth and Us is a 6-month performative exhibition where the actors will change and the work will unfold in real time. It is an experiment in developing new modes of collaboration and presenting different perspectives in an attempt to model a world that is collectively imagined.
The work takes place within WOWTE’s The Common Thread which is a series of experiments and happenings that serve as an ongoing public discussion, drawing out shared themes and engaging audiences in an ongoing conversation about the goals and strategies of social change: what kind of society do we want and how should we get there?
