Artist Biography

Lianne O’Hara is a poet, playwright, and prose writer.
Her work is published in Sprout, Beir Bua, Skylight 47, Banshee, Poetry Ireland Review,
The Honest Ulsterman, The Ogham Stone, Channel, Splonk, B O D Y, Amsterdam
Quarterly, Crossways, and Black Bough Poetry, and anthologised in Washing Windows
Too: Irish Women Write Poetry (Arlen House, 2022), Queering the Green: Post-2000
Queer Irish Poetry (The Lifeboat Press, 2021) and Writing Home: The ‘New Irish’ Poets
(Dedalus Press, 2019). Her debut play Fluff will be performed in Dublin this autumn.
In 2020, she was selected for the Poetry Ireland Introductions Series, featuring a reading
at International Literature Festival Dublin, and awarded a Literature Bursary from the Arts
Council of Ireland. She has also been selected for writers’ residencies in Cill Rialaig (Irish
Writers Centre, 2020) and Annaghmakerrig (Tyrone Guthrie Centre, 2022). She lives in
Dublin, where she teaches creative writing at UCD, and is currently working on her first
full-length collection of poetry, a novel, and a theatre play set in a mental health institution
in Ireland.
