A4 members Lisa Crowne, Andrew Edgar, Finn Williamson and Bronadh O’Brien created an interactive exhibit consisting of a a giant turntable, whose “needle” was a re-purposed playback-head from a cassette Walkman, on which you could “scratch” using giant records made from the tape from old cassettes, as well as magnetic strips from old atm cards,  and other magnetically recorded media.

On the day we invited the public to bring along their old unwanted cassette tapes to make their own 7″ cassette records!

We will be continuing this project for the rest of 2013, if you would like to get involved an help us build the biggest record collection in the world have a read here or on our facebook event here
