Work/ Force/ Field/ is a group show of work produced by 25 artists. Members of A4 Sounds, Sample-Studios, Cork and Engage Art Studios, Galway and invited artists responded to a series of text based images. The resulting show is a set perspectives gathered in an attempt to discuss where we are at, who we are with, and where we might go next.

SAT 19TH AUG | 12:30PM - 4PM

On Saturday August 12th from 12:30pm until 4pm, Samantha Mc Gaffrey will temporarily reclaim a public site local to A4 Sounds as a place for collective rest. Samantha is exploring and offering ways of gathering and engaging with people at a slower and quieter pace. She is exhausted. She finds stopping and resting difficult, almost alien. She is learning to rest.

Samantha is interested in ways that disrupt our dominant cultural and societal narratives about what belongs where and how we should behave in public areas. By lying down in a busy city location this work aims to reclaim our bodies in public space and reclaim our public spaces for resting.

Accessibility

This work takes place outdoors offsite in a public space.
Blankets will be available to lie on.
Cushions will be available.
There will be a small number of camping chairs available.
There will be two people available for guidance.
